Gumloop alternatives, by what you need
Gumloop is a no-code builder for AI workflows and agents, strongest at research and enrichment pipelines: scrape a page, enrich a lead, summarize it, write it to a sheet. People comparing it usually run into one of two things. There is no free plan, only a one-time 14-day trial of Pro that needs a card. And costs are metered in credits that vary by run: the model's cost, a credit for each tool call, 5 credits per minute of active compute, and an 8% orchestration fee on top. Gumloop documents every one of those rates, which is more than most credit-metered tools do; what it cannot tell you is what your workflow will cost before you build it. If either of those is the reason you are here, the options below are grouped by what you need instead.
Shortlist two, then test. Pick the two products that best fit the job you need done, Gumloop included if it fits, and run the same real task through both before the trial ends.
A free plan to start on
Short answer: Zapier or MindStudio for a hosted free plan; n8n or Dify if you can self-host. Gumloop has no free plan: every new account gets a one-time 14-day trial of Pro that needs a card and rolls into the $37 plan unless you cancel first (Gumloop documentation, Oct 4, 2026).
A permanent free plan for simple two-step automations across a very large app library; the cleanest way to try automation without a card.
Free: 100 tasks/mo. Professional $19.99/mo billed annually ($29.99 monthly) for 750 tasks; Team $69/mo annually. Per Zapier's own pricing guide, Sept 22, 2026.
A permanent free tier for building one AI agent, and a $20 plan with unlimited agents and runs once you need more.
Free (1 agent, 1,000 runs); Individual $20/mo ($16 yearly), unlimited agents and runs, with AI model usage billed at cost. Per DDR review, verified Oct 4, 2026.
Free with no execution cap if you run it on your own server; the cloud version is paid.
Community Edition free and self-hosted. Cloud Starter $20/mo billed annually (2,500 executions, unlimited users), Pro $50/mo (10,000). Verified on n8n.io/pricing, Sept 22, 2026.
Free two ways: a self-hosted Community Edition and a small cloud Sandbox; built for AI apps and agents rather than app-to-app automation.
Community Edition self-hosted with no license fee; cloud Sandbox free (200 one-time message credits); Professional from $59/mo. Per DDR review, verified Oct 4, 2026.
Costs you can predict before you build
Short answer: n8n, which counts one execution per full workflow run however many steps it has. Zapier counts tasks per completed action. Gumloop's credits vary run to run: model cost, 1 credit per tool call (plus that tool's own charge), 5 credits per minute of active compute, then an 8% orchestration fee, or 16% if you bring your own model key.
The meter is the whole run, not each step, so a ten-step workflow costs the same as a two-step one.
Billing is per full workflow execution regardless of steps; Starter $20/mo billed annually for 2,500 executions, Pro $50/mo for 10,000. Verified on n8n.io/pricing, Sept 22, 2026.
One task per completed action is easy to count in advance; multi-step workflows use tasks faster.
Professional $19.99/mo billed annually for 750 tasks. Zapier's own comparison page says triggers, filters, formatters and delays never count as tasks. Per Zapier, Sept 2026.
Fair to say: Gumloop publishes its full rate table, and Pro overage is capped (1,000,000 credits, $5,000, by default, and you can set a lower cap), so a runaway workflow stops rather than billing without limit.
1 credit = $0.005; credits do not roll over except on Enterprise; Pro overage billed at $0.005 per credit up to the cap. Verified on Gumloop's credits documentation, Oct 4, 2026.
Self-hosting or running in your own cloud
Short answer: n8n or Dify, both of which you can run on your own infrastructure. Gumloop is a hosted service; its Enterprise plan can run in your own VPC.
The most-starred of these on GitHub (205,000+ stars); fair-code licensed under n8n's Sustainable Use License, which permits internal business use but is not OSI open source.
n8n-io/n8n on GitHub, 205,000+ stars, active. Community Edition free; Business self-hosted license $800/mo annually. Verified on n8n.io/pricing and GitHub, Sept 22, 2026.
In DDR's top score cluster, with a free, full-featured self-hosted Community Edition, under Dify's own Apache-2.0-based license with two added conditions.
langgenius/dify: 156,000+ stars, active. Per DDR review and GitHub, Sept 22, 2026.
If the requirement is that runs happen inside your network rather than that you host the software, Gumloop Enterprise can run in your own VPC.
Enterprise customers running Gumloop in their own VPC are not charged for compute. Verified on Gumloop's credits documentation, Oct 4, 2026.
Connecting more apps
Short answer: Zapier, which states 8,000+ integrations. MindStudio lists 1,000+. Gumloop's is smaller: 250+ MCP-based connectors on its connectors page (300+ per its homepage), plus custom MCP servers and a built-in browser for sites with no connector.
The breadth play: if the app you need is obscure, Zapier is the likeliest of these to have it.
Zapier states 8,000+ integrations on its pricing guide; premium apps need Professional ($19.99/mo annually). Sept 22, 2026.
A wide integration library inside an AI-agent builder, with the agent rather than the workflow as the unit you build.
1,000+ integrations verified on MindStudio's own page. Per DDR review, Sept 22, 2026.
A visual scenario builder that many teams compare with Zapier and n8n for multi-step automation.
Named without figures: published third-party prices for Make disagree with each other, and DDR has not yet read them on Make's own page.
An assistant in your inbox, not a workflow canvas
Short answer: Lindy. If what you want is an AI that triages email, books meetings and follows up, rather than a pipeline you design step by step, that is a different product shape from Gumloop.
Built around email, calendar and messaging rather than a workflow canvas.
No ongoing free plan; new sign-ups get $50 in free credits for 7 days, no card. Plus $29.99 per user a month. Verified on lindy.ai/pricing, Oct 9, 2026.
Lead research and data enrichment
Short answer: this is where Gumloop fits best among the tools DDR reviews, since scraping and enrichment are built-in steps billed through the same credits. Clay is the specialist many go-to-market teams compare it with.
Enrichment and scraping sit in the same canvas as the AI steps that summarize and route the results; no separate data tool to wire in.
Each successful connector call costs 1 credit; enrichment and scraping tools such as Apollo and Firecrawl add their own charge on top. Verified on Gumloop's credits documentation, Oct 4, 2026.
A spreadsheet-style enrichment platform drawing on many data providers; the usual comparison for outbound sales teams.
Named without figures: DDR has not yet read Clay's pricing on its own page for this edition.

Gumloop has no free plan. Every new account starts with a one-time 14-day trial of Pro that requires a card and becomes a $37-a-month subscription unless cancelled before it ends (Gumloop documentation, Oct 4, 2026). Hosted free plans among the alternatives: Zapier (100 tasks a month) and MindStudio (1 agent, 1,000 runs). Free with no meter if you self-host: n8n's Community Edition and Dify's Community Edition. Dify's cloud Sandbox is free with 200 one-time message credits; Lindy gives new sign-ups $50 in credits for 7 days. The trial terms are also on DDR's Is Gumloop free? answer page.
The Insider's Take
The useful thing to know about Gumloop's pricing is that it is honest and still hard to budget. Every rate is published, down to the 5 credits per minute of compute and the higher orchestration fee when you bring your own model key; few credit-metered tools document that much. But the 20,000 credits on Pro are mostly a bonus allocation on top of 7,400 at list price, and Gumloop's own documentation notes that one agent can cost 2 credits for a quick question and 200 for a deep research task. Build one representative workflow during the trial and read its credit breakdown before you commit; that number, not the plan price, is your real cost.
